VA St. Louis Health Care System is a VA-sponsored 42.5-week program with a concentration in “Health Promotion to Chronic Disease Management" The well-rounded program provides a minimum of 1200 hours of supervised practice with hands-on experiences in Clinical Nutrition, Administrative Management of Food Service and community advocacy. All rotations are arranged by the internship allowing interns to focus on learning. Our highly experienced preceptors provide interns with stimulating opportunities for developing counseling and teaching skills, completing nutrition focused physical exams, participating in wound and medical rounds and supervising food service staff. The program begins in mid-August and concludes at the end of May. Interns received a generous stipend paid bi-weekly throughout the program.
